Flavamed for children contains the active substance ambroxol hydrochloride belongs to the therapeutic group of medicines for coughs and colds, mucolytics. Ambroxol hydrochloride is used for the treatment of cough in diseases of the lung and bronchus. Flavamed for children is indicated for children over 2 years, adolescents and adults.

Flavamed children liquefy bronchial secretions (mucus) and allows easy detachment by coughing.
You should consult a doctor if after 4-5 days you feel better or your condition worsens.

Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Flavamed for children.
If you had a very severe skin hypersensitivity reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell);
Stevens-Johnson disease with fever and rashes on the skin and mucosal blistering.
Lyell's syndrome is a life-threatening condition known as scalded skin syndrome. Symptoms include the appearance of large blisters like burns.
Therefore, if you notice changes in skin and mucous membranes should immediately stop taking Flavamed for children. Visit a doctor immediately!
If you suffer from renal impairment or severe hepatic disease. In this case Flavamed for children can only be used with caution (eg. In longer intervals or at a reduced dose - talk to your doctor about this). In severe renal impairment may occur accumulation of breakdown products of the active substance of Flavamed for children;
If you suffer from a rare disease with increased bronchial mucus production (eg. Primary ciliary dyskinesia). Then the mucus can not be separated from the lung. In this case Flavamed for children can only be used under medical supervision;

Ingredients of Flavamed oral solution

The active substance is ambroxol hydrochloride. 1 ml oral solution contains 3 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.
Each measuring spoon with 5 ml of oral solution contains 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are: Sorbitol, liquid (non-crystallising) (E420), benzoic acid, glycerol (85 percent), hydroxyethyl, raspberry flavor, purified water.

Flavamed oral solution directions

Children between 2-5 years
1/2 scoop with 2,5 ml oral solution 3 times a day (equivalent to 7,5 mg 3 times ambroxol hydrochloride = 22,5 mg ambroxol hydrochloride / day).

Children between 6-12 years
1 scoop with 5 ml oral solution 2-3 times a day (equivalent to 2-3 times of 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride = 30-45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride / day).

Adolescents over 12 years and adults
During the first 2-3 days 2 scoops with 5 ml of oral solution 3 times a day (equivalent to 3 x 30 mg ambroxol hydrochloride - 90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride / day), then 2 scoops with 5 ml of oral solution 2 twice daily (equivalent to 2 times 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride = 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride / day).
