UNItears preservative free

eye drops, solution, no preservatives

1. What UNItears preservative free is and what it is used for

UNItears preservative free is an eye drop solution containing hypromellose and

dexpanthenol. It has a protective, epithelizing and moisturizing effect.

Hypromellose forms temporary protective film on the surface of the eye cornea, moisturizes

the eye surface and serves as a substitute for a lack of tear production, eliminates the feeling

of "dry eye". It also provides relief from mild irritation to the eyes of non-infectious origin.

Dexpanthenol (group B vitamin) helps to restore cells on the surface of the cornea

(epithelialization).

UNItears preservative free is ideal for contact lens wearers and for people with sensitive eyes.

UNItears preservative free provides long-lasting relief:

- in decreased production of tears

- in dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca)

- in injuries and corneal erosion

- when small bodies drop into the conjunctival sac

- after eye surgery

- in sensory discomfort (burning, itching, foreign body sensation), these symptoms may be

related to external factors (e.g. air conditioning, wind, pollution, smoke, dust)

- in elevated eyestrain (by prolonged computer work) and the difficulties in seeing during

the day

- when wearing contact lenses

UNItears preservative free may be used by adults, adolescents and children.

2. What you need to know before you use UNItears preservative free

Do not use UNItears preservative free:

- if you are allergic to any substance of this preparation

- in acute phase of corrosion of the eye until complete removal of corrosive substances from

the conjunctival sac and the removal of dead tissue

- simultaneously with eye preparations containing metal salts

If you use other eye products, discuss the suitability of their concurrent use of an

ophthalmologist. It is generally preferable to wait for at least 5 minutes between the

application of each preparation.

3. How to use UNItears preservative free

The recommended dose is one drop into each eye 2-3 times per day.

However, 1 drop every hour can be applied, if necessary.

Contact lens wearers

UNItears preservative free may be used while wearing contact lenses.

Caution before applying

Before the first application it is recommended to drop off the first drop out of the eye by gently

squeezing the bottle, because in strong and irregular squeezing of the bottle the solution can be ejected

in a larger volume.

Let air to be sucked back into the plastic bottle for further drop so that the bottle regains its original

shape and then continue applying the drop into the eye as recommended.

The tip of eyedropper should not touch eye or eyelids when applying the preparation. Finally,

after instillation of the preparation into the eye it is necessary to firmly attach the protective

cap on the top of the bottle to avoid possible contamination of the dropper tip.

If there is a residual drop on the dropper tip before the deployment of the protective cap,

it is necessary to remove it by shaking drop off.

4. What are possible side effects

Rarely, immediately after application you may experience a slight transient burning or allergic

reaction to some of the substances of this preparation, or eyelashes can temporarily stick

together.

If any of these symptoms or any other unusual reactions occur, contact your doctor or

pharmacist.

5. What UNItears preservative free

hypromellose 5 mg in 1 ml solution, dexpanthenol, sodium chloride, disodium edetate

dihydrate, water for injection.

remove the safety strip

protective cover of

4. Tilt your head back, turn the

plastic bottle upside down, gently

pull the lower eyelid with your index

finger, drop a prescribed number of

drops and slowly close the eye so

that UNItears preservative free

distributes evenly along the surface

of the eye.

6. How to store UNItears preservative free and other information

Keep the bottle stored in the original container at 25°C.

Protect from cold and frost.

Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use the preparation after the expiry date which is stated on the cartridge label or carton

next to the sandglass icon. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

UNItears preservative free after 3 months of first opening the bottle.
